Overview

There is nothing quite like it. The absolute peace of immense vistas, muted colours and crisp fresh air… and the ever present promise of something wild…. as the balloons float you silently above it all “like a dream come true”.

The Masai Mara is one of the best-known reserves in the whole of Africa. It is globally renowned for its exceptional wildlife.

Despite comprising only 0.01% of Africa’s total landmass, more than 40% of Africa’s larger mammals can be found here. Across the vast plains of the Mara, visitors are able to witness lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and an infinite variety of other species in their natural habitats.

Spend 3 days of marveling bliss.

There shall be a game viewing drive on the afternoon of day 1 after arrival at Masai Mara and a final game drive on the morning of day 3 before you leave Masai Mara. Day 2 will be the Hot Air Balloon extravaganza and an optional full day game viewing drive.

Itinerary and Accomodation

Early morning pick up from Airport, Residence or hotel and start drive to The Maasai Mara National Reserve. Masai Mara game reserve is the northern part of the Serengeti, one of Kenya’s most favored game-viewing areas. It is the Africa of the imagination; endless reaches of acacia-dotted grasslands studded with hazy hills. The grassy plains and regular rainfall supports a huge population of herbivores, in turn attracting many predators. All three big cats are relatively easy to see. The Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of many thousands of wildebeest, zebras and attendant predators. Arrive in time for lunch then have an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at campsite or lodge. Overnight at tented camp or lodge of choice

4X4 safari vehicles will pick you from your camp or lodge between 0400-0530AM and drive you to the launch site, to arrive by 0600AM. Depending on the weather conditions, you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while you watch the balloons being prepared for take-off. Your pilot will give a safety briefing as well as explain what you can expect during the flight extravaganza! The balloon crew will assist as you clamber into your balloon basket for take-off just before sunrise, at about 6:30AM. As you rise the Maasai Mara plains opens up before your eyes to feast on the golden sunrise, enchanting sceneries, plains-game below as the winds gently blows the basket deeper into the reserve. The pilot is at hand pointing out at the wildlife below with plenty of photographic opportunities unfolding. Soar silently with 360 degrees of spectacular savannah lasting approximately one hour, depending on wind conditions. Upon landing between 7:15 and 7:30 AM, observe the complete deflation of the balloon envelope as our vehicles wait for you for a short drive to your morning hearty meal. Breakfast is set up on the picturesque savannah plains of the Mara, typically under the shade of a single balanite tree. Sit down to a full bush breakfast in the Kenyan style, complete with eggs-to-order, sausages, fresh juices, fruits, cereals and, of course, sparkling wine. After breakfast you may opt to have the Full Day Extravaganza game drives or game drives in separate successions so that you may also have a chance to enjoy lodge/camp facilities. The driver guide shall be readily available to discuss your daily activities as per your preferences. Overnight shall be at your Masai Mara Safari lodge/ tented camp of choice

The last day of your safari will begin with an early morning game drive, allowing you to witness plenty of early morning game. Post this game drive you will have breakfast and then depart for Nairobi. Your guide should have you back to your hotel, residence or the airport in the late afternoon. We hope to have achieved your safari dreams into a very achievable reality. Thank you for choosing to travel with us. Kwaheri! (Bye)
