Once a holiday home and later to be a retirement home for the Adamsons, Elsamere Lodge remains a unique destination in Naivasha.
Meals
Buffet lunch is served every day of the week from 1.00p.m – 2.30 pm.Guests can enjoy eating in the gardens by the lake.
During these times guests will have a chance to visit the museum and watch a documentary – The Joy Adamson Story as well.
Afternoon tea is served at 3:00pm and has been described by others as “the best afternoon tea in Kenya” all we will say is that is very popular!
Dinner is at 7:30pm every evening and is served in Joy’s dining room with the possibility of viewing passing wildlife as you enjoy your meal.
Delicious meals are served here and the traditional style high teas remain the best in Kenya!
Rooms are located in single-story cottages with a portioned patio, overlooking Lake Naivasha.
Some of the lodge’s rooms have a double bed while others have twin and triple beds making Elsamere an ideal budget accommodation for families sharing rooms.
The cottages have names that bring back memories of Joy Adamson’s pets, Pati (rock hyrax), Pippa (cheetah), Penny (leopard) and Elsa, the legendary lioness.
You can use Wi-Fi services in the reception area, free of charge. You might find that the rooms and attached bathrooms could do with a little maintenance in places though expected out of a value lodge.
At Elsamere Lodge history connects with the future as conservation is our main objective. Re-kindle the memories of Born Free by watching the documentary, The Joy Adamson Story and visiting the museum.
